Meet Carelia

Hello! My name is Carelia Altamirano, a proud native of Tijuana, BC, Mexico, who has lived between borders my entire life. I hold a Special Education Bachelor's degree from UEEP, a Primary Level Montessori Diploma from the International Montessori Institute in Perugia, Italy, and an Infant Community Diploma from the Montessori Institute of San Diego. Additionally, I am certified in Rainbow Kids Yoga, which helps me integrate a holistic approach to teaching.

 

With over 25 years of experience working with children from infancy through elementary school, I have been privileged to work with families in Tijuana, Huntington Beach, Pasadena, Solana Beach, Coronado, and Bonita. My experience spans working with children of diverse cultures, enriching my teaching methods and fostering inclusivity.

 

Last year, I fulfilled a dream by opening my own art studio, which offers art classes for both children and adults in the afternoons, fostering creativity and self-expression.

In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with my family. I am happily married with two wonderful children, and we share our home with our beloved pet cats. Weekends are often spent hiking, painting, and enjoying outings with friends.!
